This branch is all about the bugs, so we have set up a temporary bug reporting channel for reporting problems specific to this branch.

Switching to the Beta branch


To switch to the beta branch, you do the following:

  • Open Steam
  • Right-click on TaleSpire
  • Choose "Properties..."
  • Switch to the "Game Versions & Betas" tab
  • Enter the password q23fp8ojf2q9p34t87 
  • Click the "Check Code" button
  • Click on the blue "Opt Into" bar that appears

If it doesn't automatically switch the active beta for you, you can pick ` hide-tweak-beta ` from the "Select the beta you would like to opt into:" drop-down.

Switching branch should enqueue a download for the Beta build of TaleSpire.

Leaving the Beta branch

To leave the beta branch, you do the following:
  •  Open Steam
  •  Right-click on TaleSpire
  •  Choose "Properties..."
  •  Switch to the "Game Versions & Betas" tab
  • Choose "Default Public Version" from the "Select the beta you would like to opt into:" drop-down.

This should enqueue a download for the standard build of TaleSpire.

So what's this all about?

This Beta is for a tweak to hide-volumes so they can be correctly hidden by the hide-plane. The rest of the hide-volume feature should be identical to how it was before (If it's not, please let us know, as that's a bug).


Expected Behavior

Hide volumes should mostly work the same as before. The two adjustments are:

  • Hide volumes now respond to the hide plane
Game Photo
  • If the camera gets too close to a hide volume it can hide.

In the future, we want to rewrite the hide-volume feature to address a bunch of your main requests. But in the meantime, I hope these changes make your sessions a little bit easier.
